Why you should attend this conference

Work, rest and play, has been the accepted tri-partite division of time since long before the Mars advert when King Alfred famously divided his day into these three eight hourly divisions. Planners spend a lot of time planning for new housing and business premises, but perhaps, rather less planning for our communities recreational needs. With an increase in domestic tourism prompted by recession, the fall in the pound, and environmental concerns, and with an increase in sport and recreation required to deal with concerns about child and adult obesity, there is more need than ever for development professionals to understand current trends in tourism and leisure. Moreover, with a major downturn in the housing market, it is the tourism and leisure sector which is underpinning many new and revised regeneration projects.
