An introduction to the planning system

This workshop will include the changes to the planning system being proposed by the Coalition Government including the main planning proposals in the Localism Bill,Neighbourhood Development Plans, Neighbourhood Development Orders and the abolition of Regional Spatial Strategies.This course is intended to provide administrators and support staff with an understanding of the planning system to enable them to appreciate the wider context within which they are working.

Project management for everyone

Affordable housing: policy and provision

This Briefing & Workshop will examine the latest approaches to the provision of affordable housing by the Government. It will look at the practical implications of the Government's new planning and housing policies, the latest objectives for the Community Infrastructure Levy, viability assessments, and other techniques for providing affordable housing in an adverse economic climate. Representatives from both the public and private sector will share their views and experiences and the more interactive approach to this event will provide opportunity for discussion and debate between speakers and delegates.

Planning law update conference

This Briefing & Workshop will explore the implications for heritage of the National Planning Policy Framework and other recent developments. These will include new heritage case-law, an examination of ways of tackling heritage at risk and an exploration of current thinking and practice in relation to renewable energy in relation to the historic environment.
