Why you should attend this masterclass
PPS1 says that planning and urban design are indivisible. A large part of development management relates to design: to the physical form of buildings and spaces. Dealing effectively with design (and having the right policy and guidance in place) is the key to winning in a large proportion of planning appeals.
Who should attend?
These masterclasses are designed for
- Development management staff: how to make the right decisions and uphold them at appeal
- Forward planners: what sort of planning policy and guidance do we need to make development management effective?
- Planning consultants and architects: how can we get the results we want?
- Architects: learning to speak the Planning Inspectorate's language
Key benefits
This masterclass will provide you with an understanding of:
- An informed update on an evolving situation, including the current CLG position on what is required of LDFs
- Help with the assembly of the best combination of LDDs to meet the needs of the area and the community
- Lessons from some of the leading examples of LDF preparation
