Our training courses offer an introduction for those new to the planning field, a forum for debate on technical aspects of planning for experienced planners and an opportunity for all staff to improve their personal management skills.

Our training approach

We offer you a fully managed training service from one-off training events to suites of multiple programmes. A specialist project manager will handle your training requirements from start to finish, working with you to identify your key training objectives and listen to your business requirements.

These are then matched to the trainer who best fits these requirements and your company culture. Our speakers will work closely with you in developing content for the course you require. They may wish to put together some local case studies, for example, which would relate to your business needs. Our training service is highly practical, using exercises, case studies and discussion to ensure full participation by each delegate.

Each course attendee will receive a comprehensive manual which will be a useful reference document after the course. It will include copies of all slides used by the speakers. If requested, we can also offer post-evaluation support to ensure the training is successfully transferred back into the workplace.

Our trainers

We have a wide range of trainers who regularly present these courses on behalf of RTPI Conferences. All trainers are experienced chartered town planners who combine their training activities with consultancy to ensure up-to-the minute practical advice. All have worked extensively within local government planning departments at chief officer level and bring personal experience and anecdotes to the exercises, which form an integral part of every course.
